School Bells
The school bell is rung manually in the office by the Office Manager
Continuous ringing of the bell indicates evacuation procedure.
When sounded, all staff and students are to evacuate to the main evacuation area, the school field. (Refer to Evacuation Plan.)
In the event of a lock down an air horn siren will go off. This indicates lockdown and students are to move as quickly as possible into the school library/special needs unit.
Class Bell Times:
9.00 am School day begins
10.30 am Morning tea
11.00 am Middle session begins
12.30 pm Lunch
1.30 pm Afternoon session begins
3.00 pm School finishes
Once a child arrives at school, they will not be able to leave the school grounds except:
Wet Day Supervision:
Signal for wet day supervision – 3 rings on bell at beginning of morning interval and lunchtime.
Children will remain inside under supervision. Should weather clear – after 12:45 p.m. – duty teacher will ring 1 long bell and children may go out, and normal playground supervision will take over.
If it is necessary to bring children in after 12:45 p.m. through wet weather, duty teacher will ring 3 bells and wet weather supervision will take over immediately.
